Hitchin Priory Hotel, Hitchin

My stay at the hotel was a mix of positives and negatives. The rooms were quiet, clean, and the reception staff were helpful and friendly, but the decor was outdated and in need of refurbishment. The service was a bit hit and miss, although the night porter was very attentive. The location was excellent, with a beautiful original building and lovely atmosphere, but it was away from the bustling weekend crowds. The dining experience was good overall, but the breakfast area felt cramped. Despite some drawbacks, the hotel offered a nice atmosphere and good value for money.

The hotel is conveniently located in the center of town with parkland nearby, making it a fairly useful spot. While some areas like the cellar bar require updating, the staff is excellent and very helpful. The dining experience, despite being to standard, is at reasonable times and offers freshly cooked meals. The rooms, although in need of refurbishment, are spacious and come with an electric heater for replacement. However, being positioned above the front door poses no inconvenience.
